As you've noticed, I'm sure, we love creating fun foods for kids and family. Our real specialty iskids party sandwiches with a fun theme. Here we show you how to make a cute Giraffe sandwich, perfect to make any day extra fun. If you are thinking about a Jungle theme party or a Zoo theme party, this would be great as the main food for kids. You can even let them have a "Make your own Sandwich" party ... just put a finished sandwich out so they can get the general idea.
To make the Giraffe Sandwich:
- 2 slices whole wheat bread
- Carrot rounds
- Apple slice
- Celery
- Snap peas
- Sandwich filling
Remove all crusts, then set one slice of bread on top of the other. Cut out a large oval for the giraffe head and a curved neck. Fill both sections with desired sandwich filling and assemble together on plate to form the giraffe.
Cut small rounds from a piece of carrot for the giraffe spots, eyes and knobs of horns. Make ears from a piece of apple or other fruit or veggie. Mouth and nostrils can be cut from any veggie or fruit scraps. To make the branch, cut a thin slice of celery for the stem and use 2 snap peas or green beans for the leaves. Garnish plate with a few “leafy” looking pieces of celery.
